Wellness Wednesday: Deep Blue Bath Soak

Updated: Apr 30, 2022

Welcome Back Friends!

Today we will be making a soothing mixture to add to your bath after a long day. With baseball season in full swing, I struggle to keep this mixture stocked! In my house we have 4 ball players and between all of their schedules, we typically have games 5-6 days a week. Not only do we end up with an abundance of laundry, but also a load of sore muscles!!

As soon as we walk in the door from a game, a hot bath is ran and filled with this wonderful deep muscle soak! Just the aroma alone is so soothing to the senses, then the oils and epsom salts begin to go to work. It is also incredibly soothing to soak in this bath before bed. The swelling and inflammation in your tired muscles will be greatly reduced, and the aroma in the steam will help lull you into a state for bedtime. Click the links in the recipe below to find all of the ingredients you'll need to mix up this healing bath blend! I also recommend applying Doterra's Deep Blue Muscle Rub after taking your bath. This intense cooling lotion sinks into the muscles, giving you an instant relief from any tension that you may be storing. They even make convenient Single Use Packets to toss into your bag for away games!

Another essential way for athlete's to heal their bodies after vigorous workouts is Yin Yoga. This slow and deep style of yoga helps to target the fascia deep within the muscles and to release chemicals in the body that act as lubrication to keep our bodies moving and in their full range of motion. Coming soon to the
Om Zone Yoga tab, we will be featuring some great Yin Yoga sessions to aid in your all natural healing. Stay tuned and in the meantime enjoy this wonderful spa like escape in the recipe below!

Deep Blue Muscle Soak:

2 Cups Epsom Salt
1.5 Cups Baking Soda
1/3 Cup Dried mint

Combine all ingredients and gently stir until well blended. Store in a dry and cool place.
